Ana’s Collection #1: Music Players & Jukeboxes

I think this is an essential part of our internet lives: Music.

I might have already wrote about some of these, but this is an essentials list, not an article explaining WHY they rock. Here’s what i’ve found thusfar:

Online Players & JukeBoxes

1. Pandora – You know i couldnt help myself. I’ll always list pandora as first, just because it’s so clean and so detailed in it’s research process. Here’s my article on pandora.
   
2. Songza – Music search engine and jukebox. Flash driven, very cute interface,you’ll find lots of variety here.
3. Woonz – The Audio Search Engine. Listen and/or download these mp3’s from across the internet.
4. Musicovery - A fascinationg ‘mood stimulated’ music player, where you chose what mood you wanna listen to, and what genre. Clever as hell.
   

Softwares: Music PLayers and Jukeboxes

1. iTunes – one of the most popular music players with many functions across the board all related to music. Connects teh well known iPod, browse through their iTunes store for songs just .99 cents each, and burn CD’s or upload them to your computer.
   
2. Billy – my favorite software for playing music. Run many softwares and play billy at the same time. Very small and compact and does the job well.
3. Winamp - another popular one according to most people. Very industrial look, loads quickly an dhas many themes and color options to optimize its look to your preference.
   
4. Windows Media Player – one of the basic but most recently updated music players thats been around for a long time with Windows.
   
5. Songbird – The newest one out there, standing next to iTunes. Similar interface but in a black shade. Here’s why songbird is claiming it’s doing better than iTunes.(makeuseof)
   
6. Songbeat -the newest web based music player FOR YOUR DESKTOP: it allows you to search music online – just type your favorites in and it plays music! No illegalness, just music.
