Ana’s Collection #2: Sexy Songs

I don’t know why i decided to post this. There seems to be a different category of music in my head: sexy. Nobody seems to see what i mean. Every time i ask, “what’s the sexiest song you’ve ever heard?”, they don’t get it. Yes, really. Songs that seduce you. Songs that wish you were getting some, even if you are on a weekly basis.

Songs with seductive lyrics, reguardless of genre. Seductive tones and sounds.

  1. Lick by Joi – Intended to be sexy, and i don’t blame ‘em! Joi, is totally unheard of before the movie xXx starring Vin Diesel. Not to mention the fact that the scene was played out in a huge mansion with a fourpost bed with a hot girl about to bang Vin Diesel! haha. It hasn’t lost the appeal without that image though. Listen up, its great!
  2. The Beat Goes On – Britney Spears – I totally pride myself in looking through music that’s young and old, overrated and popular. It’s an old never heard of song by britney spears, but the beat is addicting and, i am tempted to replay it the instant it’s over. There’s not too much to it. But it’s great.
  3. Boys – Britney Spears. I might have an obsession with ‘empty beats’. I don’t need much music. But a strong beat i can stomp my foot to is enough; my sense of rhythm is overwhelming. I like this song alot.
  4. Wicked Game – Chris Isaak. Well we’ve all heard this before. The chocolatey voice of Chris Isaak and his innocent, heart broken moans are enough to tear any girl apart. I guess i gave in, and i’m one of them.
  5. Got To Give it Up – Marvin Gaye. I first heard this song from the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, when the badboy actor starts to smoke in his huge pad, about to kill Drew Barrymore. It came off as very relaxing, and the high pitched Gaye’s voice is very seductive, surprisingly. Feels 70’s to me, and again, has a very strong sense of rhythm. My weakness.
  6. True – Spandau Ballet. Very old school sound, if anyone heard it out of the blue. But the classic has it’s appeal, wouldn’t you say? High up in my charts.
  7. Justify My Love – Madonna. Who could forget? The crazy b/w music video, madonna’s irressisting 80’s appeal and the leathery sighs. “I wanna kiss you in Paris”.
  8. Dogs of Buenos Aires by Mirah. She’s barely heard of, but her angelic voice sings quite the tune. The voice is rather whispery, with an acoustic guitar rhythm. Sobby lyrics, but strikingly touching.
  9. Roads by Portishead. I doubt anyone but me would call this seductive. But the 80’s semi pornstarish background music is somehow appealing to me, followed by her ghostly highpitched vocals.
  10. Body Language by Queen. Well we can guess why; almost any song called body language better be about sex and lust. It’s very trancey, and has some trippy ’sharp angles’, but that’s part of the Queen appeal.
  11. Amour by Rammstein. Who’d ever think a romantic song by Rammstein? You’re crazy. No – they whisper, and Till liedemann’s raspy voice does have it’s own appeal aswell. Check it out.
  12. Lucretia, My Reflection by Sisters of Mercy. Okay, what? A Goth Rock band in black make up and leather jackets, producing a SEXY song? Youbetcha! At least, from my point of view, which are many. :) “I hear a roar of the big machine…” The whispering raspy voice has done it again.
  13. truth or dare by N.E.R.D – This is a surprising find. It’s poppy, with lots of lyrics, with both male and female lyrics, but it’s clubbish and surprisingly titilating. “You… got a girl but you touchin’ me like you don’t care baby you…”
  14. Are We Cuttin’ by Pastor Troy. There aren’t alota rap songs i’d think to be ’sexy’. Danceable maybe, never sexy. But This one’s got the whole “i’m in a dark club dancing with millions of people and one guy happens to be attractive, and i wanna go home with him”. It strikes me more than most. Don’t ask me why.
  15. Steal My Kisses – Ben Harper. Can’t help myself. Another one of those typical ones, about the kisses and all that. But it’s a classic, and it’s simple.
  16. These are The Things – Black Box Recorder.Female vocals, about the every day things that love is. Not the dream, just the reality. Very truth of it.

More coming up. Have a suggestion? Post it up.
